Whiz Kid: Peter Ostapowicz

School: Copley High School
Accomplishments: Many
Key to Awesomeness: Peter has achieved many accomplishments in and out of the classroom. The Copley High School senior recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor awarded by the Boy Scouts of America. He completed a number of requirements that included service to the community, leadership and scouting skills. For his Eagle project, Peter, a member of Troop 390 in Fairlawn, supervised fellow scouts in constructing two storage units for the Crown Point Ecology Center in Bath.
In addition to his 3.5 grade-point average, Peter's accomplishments inside the classroom include making the Honor Roll all four years at Copley High. He is enrolled in several advanced placement courses and is a member of the German club.
Peter enjoys music and plays the piano, guitar and trombone. He is also a member of the Copley High Symphonic Orchestra, which performed at Severance Hall, home of the world-renown Cleveland Orchestra. Peter also is a three-year letter winner on the Copley High School football team. He played in the Summit County East-West football game last Thanksgiving and was named to second-team All-Suburban League his senior year.
He attends Grace Church in Bath where he is involved in the youth group and will attend either Bowling Green State University or the University of Akron.
