What Are Your Favorite Patriotic Tunes?
Tell us your favorite patriotic songs and we'll create a July 4 Spotify playlist.
My country 'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty...
The songs of our country's freedom are often played when fireworks are shooting off into the sky. And we've always wondered who can hear them with loud bangs all around?
So we want to know what your favorite patriotic songs are so you can play them loud and clear whenever you want: during a cookout, in your car or, heck, even when you march in place in the shower.
Leave your favorite song in the comments and we'll whip up a Spotify playlist and share it with you on July 4. Get your songs into us by July 2 so we have enough time to put the list together.
Can't wait to see what you recommend!

Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue and American Soldier by Toby Keith. I love these songs for many reasons. I'm an American Soldier that is currently deployed to Afghanistan and these mean more to us when we're deployed than at any other time.

"Americanos" by Holly Johnson [former lead singer of Frankie Goes To Hollywood]. Also the one that is a re-working of "God Save The Queen" --> "My Country, 'Tis of Thee" (which is actually titled "America").

I've listened to a lot of patriotic songs since my son joined the Navy...I love:
"Born Free" by Kid Rock, even though it is not the "in your face" type of patriotic song.
I cry every time I hear "Anchors Aweigh".; they played it at my son's bootcamp graduation.
When my first husband was in the Navy, they always played "God Bless the USA" when the ship pulled in....and then lots of military got turned off because Greenwood also recorded the same song with USA replaced by Canada.
Mellencamp's "Our Country" is good.
Aaron Tippin - "Where the Stars & Strips and Eagle Fly"

Born In The USA by Bruce Springsteen, most definitely. That's patriotic, right?

"Born in the USA" by The Boss, "I'm Proud To Be An American" by Lee Greenwood, "Rockin' in the Free World" by Neil Young, & "Futures" by Jimmy Eat World, which is less outwardly patriotic but is about the importance of voting. :)

"Born in the USA" is a great song but I wouldn't call it patriotic. It's very critical of the US involvement in Vietnam and they way the vets were treated upon their return.
