Is he singing "Sugar pie, honey lumps"? Or is it "Sugar pie, muddy bumps"?

Well, it's neither. But we made up those lyrics just so we could sing along, right? We all do it...

So, Patch wants to know the song lyrics that you got completely wrong just for the sake of singing along. Chances are, your version is completely hilarious.

Tell us these three things in the comments:

• The song title and artist

• What you thought the lyrics were

• What the lyrics actually are

You have until Aug. 2 to tell us your lyric flub. On Aug. 3, we'll run a Spotify playlist with all the songs and we'll compare lyrics.

Have fun!

Here are two that always got me
Love Potion Number Nine by the Searchers.. I always heard "you know the gypsy with the gold capped tooth" as the gypsy with the gold tattoo.

Groovin' by the Rascals I thought "you and me endlessly" was you and me and Leslie. (thought maybe Leslie was their kid)

At the very end of 'Don't Stop the Music' by Rihanna, when she repeats a line over and over, I could clearly hear her saying "Gonna stand on the side of Microsoft." Turns out, she's not saying anything -- it's apparently nonsense words like "mamasee, mamasa." Ha!

@Phil, you me and leslie, that's awesome!

There are two songs I messed up big time:
-- In "Brown Eyed Girl," by Van Morrison: At the beginning I always thought he said "Hey Rodrigo," instead of the actual "Hey where did we go."
-- In Van Halen's "Panama," I always thought he was saying "had enough," instead of Panama!

My sisters and I thought Jay-Z's "Big Pimpin'" chorus was "We doin' big pimpin', spinning the cheese." There was no cheese involved - Jay-Z and his friends were "spending the G's." But we don't let that stop us from singing it the way we like, conjuring images of Jay-Z on a boat with a big wheel of cheddar.

It's actually Manfred Mann's Earth Band and what is actually said in their version is "revved up like a deuce" -- but it sounds incredibly like "wrapped up like a douche".

That song is a Bruce Springsteen song and the original lyric is "cut loose like a deuce" -- which rhymes! :-)

Once when I was at the beach I overheard two women talking about this song, and one was saying she didn't understand why they were singing: "Hush, hush, let's go downtown for spaghetti." I wanted to tell her "No, it's "Voices Carry," but that would have been almost like criticizing her for talking loud, so I let it go.

When my youngest daughter Megan was REALLY young, she thought the chorus to "Yankee Doodle" ended with the words, "and with the girls EAT CANDY" instead of "and with the girls BE HANDY." Sometimes we still sing what's come to be known in the family as "the Megan version" and it makes us laugh to this day!

When my now grown up daughter Jackie was about 10 yrs. old, she loved to sing Paul Young's "Every Time You Go Away." Something just didn't sound right, so I asked her to repeat the works and sure enough, she was singing "Every time you go away, you take a piece of meat with you." When she was told it was "you take a piece of me with you" her look of horror and confusion was priceless. At least she was on key.
