A rider was all smiles as she showed off her first place ribbon.

The 68th annual Bath Horse Show drew owners from nearby cities and brought horses of all sizes, breeds and colors into the ring.

The horse show is the only fundraiser for the Bath Fire Department. Money raised from last weekend's show is the main source of funds to support staff training, mobile education for children on severe weather and fire safety through the Public Safety Trailer, provide free CPR training for Bath residents and upgrade equipment like the new tanker truck.

"It's important to me to stress that we need the community to as much as they need us," said Mike Marias, show chairman and part time fire fighter and paramedic. "It's also important to see us in the community, to be in the public's eye, not just at their house in their time of need."

Horses competed in 79 classes Saturday and Sunday. Check back with Fairlawn-Bath Patch this week for a list of winners in each class.
