Shoving Match Between Store Security and Shoplifter Breaks Out at T.J. Maxx

Information provided by the Bath Township Police Department.

A security guard at T.J. Maxx saw a woman walking out with merchandise she hadn't paid for on Oct. 28 and followed the shoplifter into the parking lot, according to a Bath Township Police report.

The shoplifter was headed toward a blue Chevy Pacifica when she was stopped by the security guard. The shoplifter pushed the security guard away and the guard tried to grab the $89 in stolen merchandise, according to the report.

The two went back and forth until the guard grabbed all the merchandise and the shoplifter's jacket before the woman ran to a car and drove away, according to the report.

Inside the woman's jacket were pliers used to cut security tags, valued at $10. The woman was not caught by police.
