Man Steals Eye Glasses, Runs from Fairlawn Police
Information provided by the Fairlawn Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
A man was seen walking around LensCrafters on Jan. 8 stuffing several pairs of designer eye glasses in his jacket, according to Fairlawn police.
An employee called police around 12:17 p.m. and officers were waiting outside the store when 35-year-old Brandon Taylor left the store. Police attempted to stop Taylor, of Akron, when he walked out, but Taylor bucked them off and fled through the parking lot, police said.
Taylor made his way across West Market Street into the First Energy lot before being caught, police said. Police found six pairs of glasses in Taylor's jacket, valued at $1,307.
Taylor was arrested and police charged him with felony theft and resisting arrest. Police also served him with a warrant from a previous crime, and an active warrant from the Akron Police Department for another theft.
