Hit-Skip Leads to Bigger Problems for Woman Found with Pills, Stolen Goods
The following information was provided by the Bath Police Department
A hit-skip accident proved to be the least of a driver's problems March 3 in Bath.
A motorist reported that someone had hit his truck in a Medina Road parking lot and left the scene.
A quick investigation led police to a car in a nearby lot with taillight damage.
Police stopped the driver, who claimed the damage was old. But the report noted she seemed confused and disoriented.
She was subsequently arrested for drunken driving.
Things got worse for the woman, 33, when police found she had items stolen from Acme in her car.
And during processing, officers found 10 pills in her wallet that turned out to be Schedule 2 narcotics.
She was charged with hit-skip and drunken driving, and felony charges are pending for drug possession.
An Ira Road resident said a vehicle drove off the roadway about 10:30 a.m. March 4, striking his mailbox and two garbage cans.
All three were destroyed, a report said, for a loss of about $200.
