AN INTERVIEW AT HAMPTON ROADS PEACE CONFERENCE

Where/When:  Fairlawn-Bath Branch Library, 3101 Smith Rd., Fairlawn; Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

Why Go: Three members of the Cleveland Civil War Roundtable present a one-act play that is sponsored by Friends of Fairlawn-Bath Branch Library.

Pricing: Free

SCIENCE ADVENTURE CLUB!

Where/When:  Akron Fossils & Science Center, 2080 South Cleveland-Massillon Rd., Copley; Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: This club meets every other week and features hands-on activities that take place outside around a creek. Be prepared for the weather and the dirt. Because this is an on-going class, please call 330-665-3466

Pricing: $10.

• SHOW & TELL ME A STORY

Where/When: F.A. Seiberling Nature Center Visitors Center, 1828 Smith Rd., Akron; Friday at 10:30 a.m.

Why Go: Naturalist Sarah Matheny will lead a story time with puppets and games. Children 1 year old and up are welcome with an adult guardian.

• SLITHERING SNAKES

Where/When: F.A. Seiberling Nature Center Visitors Center, 1828 Smith Rd., Akron; Saturday at 2 p.m.

Why Go: How do snakes breath when their mouths are full? Naturalist Sarah Putnam will tell you. You will also get to see some live snakes up close.

Pricing: Free

HOME DEPOT KIDS WORKSHOP

Where/When: The Home Depot, 4066 Medina Rd., Akron; Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.

Why Go: Home Depot offers how-to sessions on the first Saturday of each month to teach kids ages 5 to 12 years old do-it-yourself skills and tool safety. Participants will bring home a completed project, as well as a kid-sized orange apron, achievement pin and diploma.
