Copley-Fairlawn Student Charged with Assault After In-School Brawl

Information provided by the Copley Police Department.

 

Police were called to Copley High School on Nov. 7 after a fight broke out during the school day, according to a Copley police report.

The aggressor got upset after the victim accused him of throwing beads, according to the report. The teacher asked the boy to calm down after taking him out into the hallway.

After class, the boy waited for the victim to walk out of the classroom, knocked him down and started punching him in the head, according to the report. A student stopped the fight. 

Both boys are 14 years old.

The aggressor was suspended for 10 days and Copley Police charged him with delinquency by means of assault. The victim told police his head was sore but he was OK.
