Copley-Fairlawn Looks to Replace High School Track
The school board approved advertising for bid on Tuesday night.
The track at Copley High School stadium is due for a replacement, according to Copley-Fairlawn schools Superintendent Brian Poe. It's safe to use in the March track season, but will be replaced over the summer.
"The average lifespan of a track is eight to 12 years," said Copley-Fairlawn Business Manager Steve Robinson. "There's no major problem with this track, the surface is just wearing down."
The cost of the new track is estimated to be $175,000 and will be completed over the summer. The track that's down now is made of polyurethane, but the new track will be made of latex.
