Car and Garage Damaged by Fire

Carport at Fairlawn apartment complex is site of blaze

 

Fairlawn firefighters were called to battle a car fire on Chamberlain Road Wednesday, arriving to find the vehicle already fully involved in flames.

Fire Lt. Dave Young said the fire broke out in a carport at an apartment complex about 12:30 p.m.

The blaze destroyed the car and also damaged another vehicle and the carport. 

There were no injuries, Young said. He cause of the fire is still under investigation.

It was the second major fire in a week in Fairlawn. On Friday, April 5, a fire at a South Miller Road office building caused an estimated $60,000 worth of damage.
