4 Pounds of Pot, Cash Found on Drunken Driver

Information provided by the Bath Township Police Department.

Kent man was pulled over last week after a witness called Bath Township police to report erratic driving, according to a Bath Township police report.

Police spotted Stefan Meyer, 35, weaving in Interstate 77 highway lanes and pulled him over on the afternoon of Oct. 19, according to the report. Meyer was asked to perform sobriety tests, which he failed, and he blew a 0.099 in a blood-alcohol breath test.

The legal limit for blood alcohol content in Ohio is 0.08.

During the stop, officers searched Meyer's car and found 4 pounds of marijuana and $1,764 cash, according to police.

Bath Township Police charged Meyer with driving under the influence, prohibited concentration, marked lanes, trafficking in drugs and possession of drugs. He was taken to the Summit County Jail for booking.

Meyer was arraigned on Monday in Summit County Common Pleas court, said Chief Michael McNeely. However, a grand jury court date has not been set.

Meyer is the co-owner of Kent Cycle, a new cycling shop in Kent that will be moving into the Acorn Corner redevelopment.
