2 Men Steal $1,000 of Merchandise from Walmart, Apple Store

Information provided by the Fairlawn Police Department.

On Jan. 27, a Valley City man walked into the Walmart Electronics Department and placed a television and Bluray player in his cart and walked right out of the store, according to Fairlawn police.

The man, Russell Hammon, 35, then got into a getaway car driven by Jesse Goss, 55, Cleveland, and went to Summit Mall, police said.

At the mall, Goss was seen walking into the Apple Store, grabbing a pair of headphones off the shelf, stuffing them in an Apple Store bag and walking out of the store.

Police said Goss walked back in the store 10 minutes later, took another pair and walked out. While employees were alerting the manager, Goss walked back in and attempted to steal another pair but was stopped by the manager. Goss asked for a price check and walked out of the store, police said.

Goss and Hammon were caught by police on West Market. Police charged Hammon with the theft at Walmart and there is a warrant out for Goss for the Apple Store theft, police said. The stolen merchandise totaled $1,053.

Hi Jack,
We include the names depending on the crime. Last week we named the man with the sawed-off shotgun in his truck and before that we named a Wisconsin woman who did price switching at Giant Eagle.
